JoyRide rental terms

Plain-English summary. A signed rental agreement is completed at pickup.

1. Who can rent. Drivers must be 21 or older with a valid, unexpired driver's license. We verify your license photo before pickup. Only approved drivers may drive the car.
2. Pickup and return. Both happen in person at the listed pickup city. We photograph the car and record the odometer and fuel level together at pickup and again at return.
3. Mileage. 200 miles per rental day are included. Additional miles are $0.20 each, charged at return.
4. Fuel. Return the car with the same fuel level it had at pickup. Each 1/8 tank short is $10.
5. Deposit. A refundable deposit is held at pickup and released after the return check-in, less any fees or damage.
6. Damage, tickets, tolls. You are responsible for damage during your trip beyond normal wear, and for any tolls, tickets, or towing incurred.
7. Cancellation. Free up to 24 hours before pickup. Later cancellations and no-shows forfeit one day's rate.
8. Use. No smoking, no off-road use, no towing, no commercial rideshare or delivery use, and no driving outside the United States.
9. Coverage. You may use your own auto insurance if it extends to rental cars; bring your insurance card to pickup and you remain responsible for damage up to the car's value.
